LAUSANNE – PLAINES DU LOUP: sustainable city development
Khaver, Anna ; Šobich, Vladimír (referee) ; Koleček, Ivan (advisor)
The diploma thesis raises the question of how to live differently and suggests living in the Swiss city of Lausanne. The master plan contains the basic parameters, 5,500 inhabitants, 3,000 jobs, 550,000 m2 of gross floor area. Housing is in the neighborhood of the elementary school, the design of which is thus part of the assignment. Thinking about buildings is in connection with modern standards of ecological construction. The design is based on an analysis of the environment and architectural and urban considerations about how to live well and healthily. The development of the project is shown from the concept, to a more detailed solution of the facades.
Detached house on a lake
Sedláčková, Markéta ; Vránová, Lenka (referee) ; Kacálek, Petr (advisor)
The subject matter of my Bachelor thesis is the project of a new single-family detached house situated on a lake. The building has two over-ground floors and is covered by a flat double-coated roof. Spacious terraces accessible from both the first as well as the second floor are the integral parts thereof. Vertical load bearing and non-load bearing walls are designed from Porotherm walling system. Horizontal load bearing ceiling constructions are designed from an iron-concrete construction. The load bearing first floor terrace construction shall consist of a welded steel construction. The large diameter piles foundation construction is designed from an iron-concrete construction. The wall footing construction of piles, load bearing pillars and slab floating the building construction is designed from underwater iron-concrete construction. The project emphasizes the layout plan, thermal technical properties and safety in use.

The Architecture of Fun
Lysenko, Mariya ; Pospíšil, Jan (referee) ; Mléčka, Jan (advisor)
Nowadays the evolution of civilization gives us the opportunity to have more and more free time and fun is taken as just like one of the opportunities how time can be used. Architecture going to be only a tool for developing and promoting business within amusement parks. But how does entertainment affect us? Do we need have fun? And what else can give a person a symbiosis of joy and architecture? The aim of this work is to analyze the problem of relations between fun and architecture and suggest a solution in a specific architectural intention.
Detection of toxic cyanobacteria in Estonian large lakes and coastal waters
TKADLECOVÁ, Anna
This master thesis deals with the detection of toxic cyanobacteria in Estonian lakes (Peipsi, Lämmijärv and Vortsjärv) and coastal waters. Using the molecular qPCR method, the mcyE gene encoding the microcystin toxin (MC) was detected in 3 potential producers - Microcystis, Dolichospermum and Planktothrix. Toxin analysis was performed by LCMS/MS, the results were compared with results of qPCR and statistically evaluated. A positive correlation was found between the concentration of the mcyE gene and the detected MCs. The highest measured values of the occurrence of the mcyE gene were detected in August, with slight deviations depending on the detected organism and the environmental conditions of the lake. The highest occurrence of MCs in the studied waters was detected in September. A positive correlations were also found between the concentration of the mcyE gene, eventual MCs and the amount of cyanobacterial biomass or chlorophyll-a content in water. The results of this work provide an overview of the development of cyanobacteria and their toxins in the Estonian large lakes and in the Baltic Sea during year 2018.
The use of diatoms (Bacillariophyta) in paleolimnology
Aubrechtová, Martina ; Kulichová, Jana (advisor) ; Píšková, Anna (referee)
This thesis is a literature review summarizing methodology and the possibility of use of diatoms (Bacillariophyta) for paleoecological reconstructions of extinct lacustrine ecosystems. In addition, the theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to basic characteristics, evolutionary history and ecology of the group, lakes and the fossil record. In the practical part, two samples of sediments of a fossil lake that has been discovered and studied within the Morava Project in Strážnické Pomoraví are compared.
Phytoplankton of the Tatra lakes: factors influencing taxonomic composition and biomass
Červenková, Lenka ; Nedbalová, Linda (advisor) ; Štefková, Elena (referee)
The aim of this diploma thesis was to describe species composition and biomass of phytoplankton in the Tatra Mountains lakes (Slovakia, Poland) and environmental factors influencing them. The surface layer of 89 lakes was sampled in September 2004. Flagellates from Chrysophyta, Dinophyta and Cryptophyta most frequently dominated the phytoplankton biomass. Lake in the same valley usually differed in their dominant taxonomic group as a result of different lake morphometry, catchment type and detailed geological structure. Based on the level of phytoplankton biovolume, the majority of lakes were ultraoligotrophic and oligotrophic, however, mesotrophic and even eutrophic conditions were recorded in some forest and meadow lakes. An allometric relationship between phytoplankton biomass and chlorophyll a was revealed. Specific chlorophyll content did not differ among taxonomic groups. Altogether 233 species were determined, the most diverse group were Chlorophyta. Species richness of lake was 3-46 and it was negatively correlated with altitude and positively correlated with lake area. The majority of species were rare both in term of biomass and number of lakes occupied by a particular species. Average local species biomass was positively correlated with regional distribution. The similarity of species...
